Okay so it's pinched and modified.

But how do you prepare for a round of golf?

I like to turn up early, grab a coffee, relax, hit some balls on the range, a bit of putting practice.............

However reality is. Turn up early, mooch around the pro shop looking at the shinys, go get a coffee, and spend some time chatting to the attractive barmaid who Golfmad thought I was marrying!! So much for going out not warmed up. But then again. ;)

i normally just settle for a bacon butty and a cup of coffee in the clubhouse then staraight to the first tee. I dont think ive ever warmed up or hit a few shots before a round.

Bowl of porridge at home. Get to course 20 minutes before tee time. Chat to guys in pro shop. Chat to others in clubhouse. Chat to barstaff and get cup of tee to take away. Head for the tee. Stretch a little. Two practice swings with 7 iron. Grab driver. One practice swing. Hit the ball.

I'm not saying where I hit it though! :D

I usually arrive about 20 minutes before im due off, quick coffee, chat to other members in the clubhouse then tee it up and hope for the best. I have tried getting early and hitting a few on the range, bit of bunker practice then putting green but it just isn`t for me. I find that i try to change things before the round especially if a hit a bad shot and then end up on the first tee with far too many thoughts in my head.

My secret weapon is to hit a small bucket (40-45) in the morning before an afternoon round.
Then swing it without a care in the world. :)

If I used a range just before my tee time, I'm sure I'd be all swing-thought-ed-out.

Most important to me is a bacon bap and a coffee. Maybe a couple of putts if I have the energy, but not important. Ive tried warming up, stretching etc, and its a waste of time (for me), best to start fueled up, and see which way the dice roll.

Pretty much the same here.

Get to club anywhere between 15-30 minutes before my tee time. Set gear up, put shoes on, visit pro shop, then off to the tee in just enough time to get a coffee from the halfway hut and a minute's worth of practice swings to start to loosen me up.
If I have time I might have 10 minutes on the practice green.

3 or 4 times I've got there early enough to hit some balls first but it never does me any good. I might argue that it makes my first few holes worse but I don't know how. Anyhoo, I've decided I'm not doing that again. I'll have a couple of hits in a net if there's one where I'm playing but no more.

My plan when playing tournaments is to arrive an hour and fifteen before my tee time no matter what time I tee off, one round this week I was off at 6.39 so that was a 4.30 alarm. So the first 15 is to get everything ready bag, pin sheet etc, then 15 minutes putting followed up by 25 minutes hitting balls, 5 minutes chipping then a final 5 minutes before going to the tee 10 minutes before my tee time.

Chatty little bugger aren't you?
:D :D :D :D :D ;)

I just turn up half an hour before the off, cup of coffee if there's one going, couple of fags and I'm good to go.
Never venture into the nets and don't bother practice putting because I've never found a course yet where the practice putting green bears any relation to the greens on the course.
:D

Grab a coffee and have a chat, fill the cards in, put my shoes on and then head to do some putting.. Spend 10 minutes missing 3 footers and head to the first.

I used to be a 45 mins early kind of guy. Lots of stretches and I would hit 40 odd balls through the bag to gain a rhythm. Now I make sure theres time to get the card and have a few swishes and stretches. Probs why I've had 7 x 0.1's back in a row I guess.

I'm with hapless's version two, coffee, flirt with the bar maids, few practice swings after a stretch and wack away, if I'm out in the last group I may have a ten minute putt warm up

I play golf because I enjoy it. Not just the game but the company, the banter etc. I'll usually be in the club a good hour early, have something to eat or a pint depending on time of day. Get the bats out 10 mins before tee time, perhaps a quick putt and a couple of swishes and away I go.

i always plan to get there half hour before tee time to warm up,a few balls with the short irons then a knock on the putting green, in reallity after sorting the kids out stopping for petrol, because the mrs has used it all, i normally scream into the car park, shoes already on, and leg it onto the first tee, then t**t it into the rough off the first, but today will be different :D
