Has anyone been to Prgaue recently to play golf, thinking about going next September & probably looking to play 3 course 36 holes each day, what are the best courses there for conditioning & variety of holes?

From the websites I was thinking of booking Albatross, Prague City & Konopsite but would prefer to learn from others experiences & am open to suggestions.

Has ayone got any other suggestions for short haul places to go which have good courses and decent nightlife, one of the plus points for Prague is that the courses are supposed to be fairly quiet as well?

Yes I used to live in the CR so I know most of the courses although I have forgotten most of the names!

IMO Konpiste is not bad, Prosper is the best and Plzen was another good one. Never played Albatross or Prague.
Play is very slow at weekends as the whole family tends to dig it round and they have not translated the rules on etiquette about letting people through....

Get it booked!!

Been twice with http://abante-golf.co.uk/ and they were 2 supreme trips and the course have been very quiet when we went in mid to late June.

I was say play Albatross as it's a great track (Hosts Ladies ET) not too far outside Prague (25 mins from memory), play Karlstejn which is maybe a 45 minute journey and is a beauty (hosted European Tour) and lastly a toss up between Plzen which is a great lay out and 1st time we played it was in as good a condition as any course I have ever played but 2nd time wasn't as great, or Konopiste Radecky which again is a super track.

Avoid Beroun,it wasn't great but was cheap and fitted in with our plans and avoid Prague City which wasn't as good as others we played.

Jan at Abante will see you right and if there is more than 8 of you they will bus you from Airport and to and from the courses all in the price.........top notch and I cannot speak highly enough of them.

You will be really surprised at how good these course are and of course spends will be terribly cheap in comparison to Spain,Portugal etc.

cheers guys Albatross was always 1st choice will add Karlstejn & prob Konopsite playing both of them, fancied Prgue City as its close by & looked ok on the website. Have used Yourgolftravel for our last few trips so will give them 1st chance to quote for this one, where did you stay & go out on a night when you were there Dodger & how busy do the courses get?

Stayed in Hotel Atos, the whole package was done with Abante and the hotel is on the other side of the river to the Old Town area but only a 4 min walk from it and there were plenty pubs/eateries around it anyhow.Tended to start that side then wander over nearer the Old Town Square but drank in the places that were cheaper and had more atmosphere than the rip off joints in the square......go 30 yards around the corner from the square and the price drops and the quality rises.

Courses were dead both times we played, never held up at all.
