Practice putting green

Our new one is getting closer and closer to the speed of our greens, although it still feels very different. Much the same as the chipping green. Hopefully once they've matured a little bit, they'll be a more accurate representation of what is on the court.

That said, only muppets use our new ones - as any sort of wild slice off the first tee - that's been given a bit of oomph, is going to be bang on target for those having a practise.

The old chipping green has been dug up, and the turf used to resurface the bad patches on 5 and 13 - which are starting to show signs of visual improvement. Real shame, I used to enjoy practising on that one, it had a bunker to play out of or over, as well.

First practice green I ever encountered that was an exact match was at East Sussex National - when the greens were pure bent-grass. That was about 8 years after I started playing!

Not sure there are any courses where every green is the same speed anyway. Links (style) ones have a better chance imo - as all equally open to the weather. It's trees and breeze that makes greens different - though construction has plenty to to with it too.

Most practice greens I know are slightly different from most of the ones on the course, though not dramatically so.

Pretty close, our putting green and the Greens both have ridges from the scarifing that took place 3 months ago, plus lots of brown patches, and bobbley bits, so yes, very close
