I have never entered a competition but was just wondering,on par 3s i seem to strike the ball better off the ground and without a tee.Is this legal or does a tee need to be used at the start off every hole?

some courses over here have local rules that tee must be used on par 3's , if so get a broken wooden 1 & push it right down in the ground
