Poulter did us proud yesterday, he destroyed Garcia and played some truly magical shots in the process, I think it's time to look past the loud clothes, flash hair & attitude, the guy is turning into a serious major contender for my money and it could be this year. I hope so.

As far as I'm concerned the best place for Poults is on the radio and then only when he's playing and not talking! That way you can't see him strutting about like a peacock on heat and can listen to the commentary on his shots instead of listening to him!

Do think he's got a Major in him somewhere though.

I don't like Poulter or Casey, both players from Europe cashing in on the states (Don't blame them like), I don't really class either as "Euro" players as they play the PGA whereas Garcia is a European player.

As mentioned on Sky, Poulter is great in front when he earns the chance, when he is behind he is strictly average hence he average career record.

The people that slag Poulter off are the same ones that bemoan Westwood, McIlroy et al for not having the confidence and bottle to finish things off.

Poulter has the confidence in spades and he's the form horse going into today regardless of who he plays. If you don't back yourself who else is going to do it in a one man sport??

I'd love to see Casey go through today but I'd like to see Poulter lift the trophy.

I love European players who commit to where they come from. The likes of Westwood, McIlroy and Garcia have shown great golf on the European Tour. Whereas Poulter, Casey and Rose have joined the endless list of journey men on the PGA, all with a hand full of wins between them over the years and still ignore the European tour.

Poulter should not have been in the last Ryder team (though he did play well), Casey I used to love, but he is just as arrogant as Poulter.

I may be wrong but my guess would be that Casey plays as much in Europe as Garcia. Remember he was injured for a chunk of last season. I wouldn't think Poulter was that far behind.

Does anyone have the appearance stats from the last 2 or 3 years?

Not a lover of Casey or Poulter, Casey always has a smug look on his face and Poulter well nuff said, but fair play to these guys they've done great and good to see 2 europeans at the business end of it for a change.

I might be wrong but I didn't see much of Poulter, Casey or Rose last season, well we saw enough for them to retain their cards.

Anyway to a degree it is nice to see them both doing well in a top comp for once. Just though they where a tad pathetic with the rain yesterday, they got no sympathy from me after playing a course like concrete, it was that bad we might as well of put holes in the car park and played on there.

Is it some sort of loyalty scheme now then is it?? What will they get for coming back to the European tour full time? Green Shield stamps??

If they choose to play over there (or anywhere else) what is the problem?? If they qualify under the rules by playing the requisite number of European Tour events, again, what is the problem??

I couldn't care less where they play their golf.

The fact remains that we have 2 Brits competing in the final. You don't get there with being a [****] golfer.
I fancy Poulter to win this one as he's still on a high from thrashing Garcia yesterday.
I think Casey will feel the pressure more as well as feeling the strain from yesterdays marathon session with Villegas.

Still all square on the 7th!!!! Could be a long 'un.

I totally agree with the last two posts. Golf these days is a global game, check out the destinations the so called European Tour gets to these days. It seems that Europe is getting bigger by the year. Where they choose to play has no bearing upon either tour.I cannot see how anyone could feel deprived, or indeed betrayed in anyway by their decision to play the PGA tour. They are still British at the end of the day and as such deserve our total support for flying the flag for European golf.

How can you say Poulter shouldn't have been on the last RC team with his points total. Got picked as a wildcard but certainly vindicated Faldo's faith in him.

Why not go to the States. He has played the European tour since he got his Q card and by giving himself the chance to play regularly with the top ranked guys every week surely he is improving his game and his chances to win a major. I don't think there is any coincidence in the fact that since he has had a regular season on the PGA tour he has suddenly become a contender in a lot more events.

He'll still need to play the regulation events on the European tour (is it 11 or 12 events) to retain his European Tour status and therefore become eligible for the RC. I also think that the fact that he now got a successful fashion business going shouldn't be something to beat him with. OK he can be a pillock when he opens his mouth and has total beleif in his own ability but I do think he is showing a little more humility these days. Poulter to win 6&5

Yeah, I don't get the Poulter hate.
All I see is a guy that pumps himself up with self belief.
I've never seen him say or do anything that would be considered rude or disrespectful. (Tiger *cough*)
In fact the times I have seen him off course (i.e. having a knock about with spooney) He comes across as a nice bloke.
He's a world class athlete and as such has to use psychology to get himself in the zone. You can see it now, he's strutting round the course as fast as he can to keep his momentum going. It may come across as arrogance but I can assure you it's not.
Even the commentators on GC were saying that British golf has come on in recent years as we've started to develop a self belief and confidence, and the first thing that some of you do is try and knock a guy for displaying it???

There is a world of difference between self belief and confidence to arrogance.

Anyway I AM proud both are English and in the final.
