That's a bit like comparing apples and oranges though. The conditions at the open could not have been further from the conditions that they had at Woburn yesterday.

Agreed but Woburn has been set up difficult.
While the weather was tricky at the Open they were / are Pros who are supposed to be able to handle it.

So, while the conditions are not the same neither are the players. Over 4 days only 4 pros managed to card under par at the open.

Also, how many events like this have these amateur players been to before? What part is being played by nerves? I don't know the answer here, just raising the question.

I can sort of see IJPs point, they should be able to take criticism but there are ways of being constructively critical - IJP was not being constructive IMO.

What a load of crap some people talk in here……a mid order golfer…16th in the world. Ryder cup, he would be my number one pick. Missed cuts, take a look at the quality “high order” golfers who missed the cut. Oh, his scoring average is better this year.

He shouldn’t be slating anyone is fair comment but he has more than a little talent.

So earning a few quid on tour,and wearing loud clothing gives him licence to talk out of his rear ?
Ask a few people in 20 years time who Ian Poulter is.

Poulthard has a little talent but considering he earned less than 4.5k from his last two competitions, he shouldnt be slating anyone. he is a mid order golfer who has had his moment in the sun.
