Facebook is fading away for sharing the trivial stuff...
However,
I still use it occasionally but mostly to share more significant news and pics with wider family and relatives. Also there is a Facebook group that those associated with the island my father is from where group members post photos and memories from times past - often involving my living relatives and friends out there as well as those who have passed from us. And for that it is great.
I have also been able to build family history back 6 generations on my father's side as a result of connecting with a friend of a friend of a relative all on Facebook. Would not have been able to do that otherwise.
And my Mrs has also raised nearly £500 for her charity in the last week or so in lieu of them sending her a birthday present on the occasion of a special birthday this Saturday, again - a really valuable use of a social network.
