If a burger is your weakness. Check when aldi do wagyu burgers. Oh my lord

When they told me the price of the burger at 5G.. i thought i was getting a Wagyu along with a massage... had to put cash back into the wallet and get a credit card out.

I’ve tried all the chains and for me the best is 7bone. Have none around Kent but whenever I head home to soton I make sure I visit. Little slider burgers mean I can have a few and the dirty fries are awesome!

Cheers. I've checked out the menu and doesn't seem to bad if they are fancy burgers. If they are glorified McDonalds then it is pricey. Is it a night out place or fast food still?

There's one in Liverpool as well and rumour of another to follow. They're an American chain. A friend goes the states regularly and said 5 guys is much better if there. I think they are a decent burger but pricey for a fast food restaurant. Byron is better imo.

I'm partial to 5 guys burgers and shakes, their fries not so much

Not the best VFM but tastes gooood for a treat 🍔

Pretty sure I read that Mickleson was the major franchise owner around California - probably a very profitable venture

If only they did drive thru's. I only get burgers when on trips and a drive thru is convenient. Burger King don't seem to do them, not that I have seen anyway and McDonald's are everywhere. The BK Bacon Double Cheeseburger is absolute heaven.

Not seen a posh burger place and can't say it would tempt me that much. Is this 5 Guy thing a down south company or are they more widespread than that?

They're in the Metro Centre mate, absolute overpriced tosh though. You literally pay for everything and they weren't even that nice, it's just a place for people with big beards and full sleeves to hang out and look cool.
That Hippo place in town is the biz for burgers 😉

Sorry guys but this thread needs pics!!

Ordered this a couple of months back at golf club, if it wasn't for the golf/lunch special offer I dread to think of the cost (it would have been near £20!)

That's the kind of straight northern talking this thread needed 😁.

It's fast food, you order and they give you a ticket, then you collect your food and sit down. It tastes far superior to McDonald's though. If there was a Five Guys, Burger King & McDonald's all next to each other on the street, I would pick Five Guys. You tell them exactly what you want in the burger, there's a wide array of toppings and so on. And if you don't want to pay out 8 quid for a burger, you can get a hotdog which are just as good for about a fiver.

Sounds like a trendy more expensive burger version of Subway:cool:

Does everyone also say “Can I get a..” instead of “could I have..” ;)

Honestly mate, I got bacon on my burger expecting a couple of nice rashers, in reality it looked like someone had stood on a bag of Frazzles then sprinkled a few on top. Proper food disappointment moment.
I highly recommend the peanut butter and jack daniels milkshake at Fat Hippo, I could demolish a bucket full without coming up for air 🥤

Fat Hippo, I agree, superb. There is one is Jesmond as well. They also do a lot of outdoor events. Tend to be smaller burgers for about a fiver at those.
