Was in London and decided to go to 5 guys for a quick meal... A burger + water+ med fries for 15 quid!!. Now thats an interesting price point, but the more interesting bit was that the place was absolutely rammed and we had to borrow chairs to sit down. The burger was delicious but does that justify the price. Someone told me that the high street was dying and things are tight.. not from what i saw..

Had my first ever 5 guys last month.. it’s posh Burger King

Nice burgers delicious in fact

However expensive lol

On the note of “dying” high street.. we are terrible at change.. the high street is changing.. just those who own the shops are moaning their profits going

Speak to coffee shop owners.. they are the new pubs.. mrs always meeting her baby mums for a coffee after a group have a chat.. it’s change...

Just like now you don’t see many blacksmiths

Five Guys is amazing. I won't have a bad word said against it. Best burger in town. Customise it any way you want, and they're not small, let's be fair. Also, their fries are amazing and the portion sizes are enormous. Their hotdogs are fantastic as well.

The trouble I have with all burger places is that at the end of it I've never found a burger to out-do the McDonalds double cheeseburger....and for 99p or £1.19 I'm sorry but it cannot be beat.

Byron Burgers top anything I have had and I reckon I have tried most of the main one - Smashburger , GBK and 5 Guys

Byron have also closed a few places down as they went a bit mad opening places but their burgers are cooked to perfection as well as their milkshakes

McDonalds is right at the bottom for any burger

5 Guys is a rare treat, out of this world flavour but boy do you pay for it!

Byron Burger is a happy medium.

For a job well done nothing beats a quick McDonald’s but the difference between them all is clear as blue water.

Avoid GBK, it’s awful.

While on her apprenticeship my daughter worked at Byron in the Metrocentre till they closed it. Burgers were okay, but were damn expensive, if it wasn't for the large staff discount she got for working there, we wouldn't have bothered. Have heard some good and bad things about 5 guys, good being the burgers are nice, bad being the price.

All said and done, remove the pickle from a 99p MacDonald's Cheese Burger and you have a winner

If we're talking fast food, Burger King's bacon double cheeseburger beats anything that McDonald's offer, hands down.

Best thing about it is it comes up how I like my burgers .. just cheese and burger (bacon ofc included) but means no waiting for plain like Mc Donald’s

Had a huge burger, fries and mixed salad locally. Best burger I’ve ever had. And I mean easily the best. €4.00. About £3.42 in old money.

If only they did drive thru's. I only get burgers when on trips and a drive thru is convenient. Burger King don't seem to do them, not that I have seen anyway and McDonald's are everywhere. The BK Bacon Double Cheeseburger is absolute heaven.

Not seen a posh burger place and can't say it would tempt me that much. Is this 5 Guy thing a down south company or are they more widespread than that?

Back in the 70s/80s there was burger place that opened in Guildford. All their burgers were made from steak and it was the first time I had seen things like Hawaiian burgers. The place used to have long queues outside every Friday/Saturday night. Made a big change from a Wimpey.

There are loads in and around London. Apparently there is one in Newcastle Upon Tyne: https://www.fiveguys.co.uk/location

See all my mates raving about five guys, they go all the time, get the burgers, chips, milkshakes.

You know what else they rant about... How the generation before them screwed them from ever being able to afford a house, how tories and brexit are making life impossible for them...

Always makes me chuckle, people are delusional

Never been, or inclined to go. Been to GBK, and thought well overpriced.
In the UK, if I want a burger its Burger King. In the USA it's Macdonalds.

While i have been to GBK and now 5Guys.. i have to say, the humble McD meal is epic in value.. it is my weekend lunch while ferring nipper from one sport to another.

PS: I guess McD still makes the best fries. I like Nandos peri peri fries, but McD rules this space. Can never get BK to do proper fries. The posh ones try to be too posh by leaving skin on, double fry etc..
