Portpatrick Golf club has two courses one of them is the Dunskey, the other is a nine holer the Dinvin.
I played the Dunskey about 5 or 6 weeks ago which is the only time.
It was very windy indeed the day I played and I think that is pretty common down there. Its a clifftop course on the Rhinns of Galloway.
A typical holiday seaside course.
It was good fun and reasonably open, quite undulating for a seaside course. The greens were in good nick the rough could eat balls but generally there was enough room to avoid the worst even on a windy day.
I enjoyed it though a visiting party made the back nine a bit slow.

I've played Portpatrick and thought it was very good value. Enjoyed the course too.

We arrived one morning and it was dark grey skies, flag on 18th was almost at 90* and the rain was coming in sideways. There was 4 oldboys teeing off in torrential weather.
90 minutes later it was bright blue skies and not an breath of wind.

Would definitely recommend it
