Got a weekend away to Portal in Cheshire on the 8th/9th October. On the saturday we're going to play better ball, but just wondering if anybody knows a fun format we can play on the sunday? Potentially something a bit different to the norm.

Personally not in favour of groups playing scrambles in the midst of other golfers who are not. Slows everyone else down.

You don't say how many players but if enough for at least 2 teams how about "yellow peril"?

The "yellow" ball moves round each team member in order and you have 2 scores to count on each hole - one of which must be the "yellow" ball.

Adds a bit of pressure to the "yellow" ball player and also the team stategy needed not to lose it!!

Its great fun as a four - no gimmees is even better. One guy on four points but needs his partner to get at least a point, otherwise its a blob!

You can also do it as a larger comp of pairs of you have say 20 golfers.

Haven’t figured out how you play it in more than three’s - it’s otherwise known as 6’s isn’t it?

Still pressure if you play as 2’s and less pressure if somebody has a blob.

We played in teams of 2 last month and was thoroughly enjoyed by the 8 teams. One team had 12 points on a hole!
