General thought going on in my head and wondered if anyone else suffers the same.

I'm still attending lessons and working on balance. My trouble is I can't find the balls of my feet so to speak. When I started I was very toe heavy, which was obvious thinking back as I wasn't very balanced on my follow through.

We've worked on that and I do a small video compilation to send to the Pro inbetween or face to face lessons as I only see him every 4th week at present. It turns I've went the very opposite way and now have too much weight on my heels. Bizarrely my end result of ball striking is pretty ok, especially when compared to being too much weight on my toes. There are other things being worked on in conjunction to this and also at the same time.

This isn't so much a "ohh pity me thread" more of a is it that common to over correct?

Short answer yes. As someone who has had numerous lessons, I find that I can work on a drill and get it working and the swing feel good and keep practising it and eventually over do. It's important to keep checking basic, find the right posture and make sure everything is in place as much as possible before swinging. Keep working away. It will come
