Can't really think of anything good about winter golf.

Shorter course but no run so plays the same length
Softer greens means spending 5 minutes repairing other people's pitchmarks
Fewer bad bounces but no good ones either
Preferred lies - that's not golf
Thinner rough but soaking wet
Non qualifiers so nothing to play for
Winter leagues but can't play matches after work

So the best thing about winter golf is that we only have to put up with it for 3 months a year.

As a cheery thought to start the day, remember this kiddies....

We're not in winter yet. This is still autumn.

Being first out on a crisp sunny winter's morning.

Seeing the line of your putt make the first mark on a dewy green.

Christmas shinies and new gear.

The (misguided) optimism that next year is going to be the one when you crack this game.

I would also include hipflask and the warm glow as you sit in the clubhouse and the circulation starts to return to normal.

Afternoon all,
Couple of seasonal polls for you this month via 2 separate threads as still not sure if you can run two polls in one thread like before.
This month, we're looking at the most and least enjoyable things about winter golf.
As ever, thanks for your help

Same as Monty - nothing beats being first on the course on a crisp (not frosty) winter morning.:)
