Polished shoes!

I'm only 36 but it really annoys me seeing dirty scuffed shoes that have quite clearly never seen a lick of polish or a brush in their life. Its a bug bare of mine. Take my work for instance, there are so many youngsters who don't bother brushing their shoes. They simply run a shine pad over them and wonder why the shoes are a pigs ear again two minutes later. Bloody laziness.

Even when I'm in Glasgow or in the town I see business men with rather expensive looking suits and dirty scuffed faded shoes. Why??

Car sales people, Smiffy take note. If you come up to me with crappy unpolished shoes cheerio, I'll tell you I'm just looking until a smart professional salesman with pride in his appearance and polished shoes makes himself available. It says a lot about their attention to finer detail if they make the time and effort to polish their shoes.

I even polish my golf shoes and my work boots get polished every day.

Rant rant rant.

:sbox:

Mate you are a man after my own heart! standards are slipping, I cannot abide grotty golf shoes, just clean them for flipps sake, it takes minutes. If your shoes are cacked in mud, shame on you as you probably were not brought up like that.

What???

This is a joke post, right???

If you can deduce someone's upbringing just by looking at their golf shoes then you're a genius!

Can you also tell what car they drive simply by shaking their hand?

Work/pub shoes - absolutely must be clean and polished.

Golf shoes - not a chance. I can think of one thousand things far more important than cleaning my golf shoes.

At the moment there is little point in cleaning golf shoes.
I know MikeH is a stickler for this but....
I cleaned mine on Tuesday, played Fragger on wednesday and within 3 holes they looked exactly the same as they did before I cleaned them..
So what's the point? Start off with nice shiney shoes and within 10 minutes they're caked..
Pointless.

In the summer or when the ground is dry then it is worth it - but when it's as wet as it is at the moment, forget it.

I rarely wear shoes other then for golf so I tend not to have the problem away from the game.

Nice clean shoes at the start of every round. I was brought up to always look after my belongings. Clean shoes, clean clubs, clean car. It doesn't make me think lesser of people that dont.

My belongings are cared for superbly. My music collection is my pride and joy and is cleaned before and after every use. My DVDs the same. My 12" vinyl are all in acid free boxes, etc.
Anything that comes into contact with the turf - what's the point in cleaning it? Do you clean your lawn mower? Or spade?

Maybe I should start cleaning the tyres on my car......

Does Katy Perry live in no.32? Show off, posh git.

Being a bit of a saddo my shoes along with my clubs get a clean after every round even if playing the next day... Don't bother with polish on the shoes though as, I believe, FJ reccommend against this...

Still got plenty of time left to sit down with the grandchildren...

Work and going out shoes, agreed. But golf shoes, in this weather. You're joking right?? They're full of crud just walking to the first tee. Mine will get a proper clean once a week. In-between, they stay as they come off the course.
