Blimey - you've not read anything I've written, have you?
I've stated that in a working environment it is imperative that one looks smart and presentable. I always wore a nice suit and clean, polished shoes. End of.
My argument is regarding the cleaning of golf shoes. Why should I clean something that's used to walk through mud and cack? If I turn up with clean trousers, a clean shirt and a clean jumper but dirty golf shoes and you choose to think less of me then that shows your own, inbuilt prejudices. Your loss.
Also, the Gary Glitter comment was aimed at the 'clothes maketh the man' statement. Evidently, they don't.
Not saying I would think anything less of you, even though you choose to wear muddy shoes. My best mate always turns up in muddy golf shoes. This was just a discussion on cleaning your golf shoes. I am just someone who always takes a pride in his appearance, no matter what I am doing and I like to look smart at all times.
