Its all down to good manners, we always ask a faster group be it 1,2,3 or 4 players if they would like to come through the only exception being if we ourselves are being held up by the group ahead, often queues start on the first and if we are less than a 4 ball we always ask if anyone in the queue waiting wants to join us, don`t see any point in leaving someone as a single unless they don`t want company.
Sometimes we regret this later as they take 9 shots a hole but doesn`t put us off doing it again.

You should have nailed one of the seniors on each hole with your drive. As old duffers, they have had their day...and after 4 holes you would have been free to carry on your round free as a bird.
