Hi all,

New to the forum and returning to the game after a long layoff. I've moved from Essex to Kent and left all my old golf buddies behind so I'm looking to meet new players around the Orpington area. I'm 43, and hold down two jobs, one in casinos and I also have my own Electrical business, so I am available to play some weekdays as well as weekends, work permitting. Just wondered whether there were any other lads in the local area looking to join up for a game now and then. At the moment, I'm shooting low to mid 90's ( the driver is getting me in trouble at times ) but I'm very keen to work on my game and bring that score down somewhat !! I've been going around Chelsfield Lakes and using the range there but I'd love to visit other clubs in the area as there seems to be so many !!! Anyway, if anyone fancies a game then pls feel free to get in touch ....

Hello mate welcome to the forum. im local to you in New Eltham, played Chelsfield last Sunday infact!

Happy to meet up for a round at some point although it wont be for a couple of weeks and i can usually only play weekends aswell.

I'm in two societies i can introduce you to also, one based in Dartford and another in eltham, all good blokes.

As for courses near you, Pedham Place isnt too far away and is a well looked after course, orpington golf center has two courses and a9 hole, cray being the better of them all, and broke hill is just around the corner from chelsfield, ive not played it yet but am planning to, as ive heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm down in Medway so not to far away if you ever fancy a game, happy to drive up that way as few places I want to play up there. Somewhere I've yet to is Pedham hearing only good things about it. As for Orpington itself, Cray Valleys a nice little course played it twice this year and really enjoyed it. I'd avoid Ruxley though, bit of a field if you ask me. If you don't mind lots of hills and are a bit of a mountain goat Lullingstone is decent enough as well.

I really don't like Broke Hill. from memory, it's got 9 okay holes and 9 dull, featureless holes. More enjoyable courses in the area are Pedham, High Elms and even Lullingstone (although that can look a little scrappy at times) ahead of Broke Hill. Darenth Valley in Shoreham used to be an enjoyable knock too.

I jonny, im in selsdon which isnt far from biggin hill, currently a member of farleigh and due to a recent lay off find myself with some spare time during the weeks, your welcome up to farleigh for a game which is between selsdon and sanderstead. drop me a pm if you fancy it.
