With the weather the way it has been recently, was wondering if anyone had any experiences (good bad or funny) of ever playing golf in the snow?

Lol we had just over 6 inches on monday so I tried playing bunker style shots in my garden to see what it is like but to no avail- I would think in this sort of depth people would do well to get round a course in under 180 shots. I would never contemplate playing on the course with a covering of snow- I don't even like playing with frozen ground.

Went out today thinking snow had gone. Fairways were okayish with patchy snow. Greens were pure white - varied between frosty or melting snow - putting either great or complete disaster. But hey - we were out there. Only lost one ball (in a ditch!)

Whats the point, ask yourself?

You hit a drive down the middle and bang, it's lost in the snow.

No thanks I'd rather work and earn money.

Many years ago I played a round in slushy snow(just a thin layer mind), horrible orange practice ball came in handy, it was fun to a point but putting was ridiculous to say the least. Would I do it again? No! :D

if it's a choice between staying in a heated office, coffee almost on tap, access to the net, and working on this bl**dy project
or
wrapped up like an orang on steroids, freezing bits off, losing balls all over the course while doing a sub for Titus Oates . . .

hmm, where are my clubs!

Just had another 4 inches of snow overnight to top up what was already here.

Guess the plans to play on Saturday and try out my spanking new GoKart are going on hold :(
