I'm due to play tomorrow morning so I hit 50 balls up the range tonight to get my eye in.

After my last visit to the range went really well, confidence was high.

My first 25-30 balls were a joke: topping it, shanks, hooks, slices. You name it it was there.

I felt like I was over thinking it and as my temper was wearing thin, I just addressed the ball and hit more out of anger rather than technique or thought. This resulted in some of the best strikes I'd ever produced.

Now I'm considering cancelling tomorrow's round and getting up the range and hopefully sorting it out. It'll be my last chance to play for a couple of weeks due to work and I'm desparate to play but after a very mixed session up the range I fear it may do more harm than good.

Thoughts?

I'd say play tomorrow and try to relax and play in your subconscious without putting any pressure on yourself. Basically just try to enjoy your round.

No point cancelling your only chance of a round for a fortnight just because of a bad day at the range....

i dont know how people can hit hooks AND slices by accident. my bad shots are ALL slices. its just my natural swing. its probably due to the fact i dont have anywhere near a textbook swing.
