played today

Finally played on the course today. Played a winter 4 ball tie. To say it's a bit wet underfoot is an understatement. I think I'll leave it a week or two until the ground dries out a bit. What we need now is a dry spell and some wind to help the drying out process.

Oh we did manage a win by the way :D

Played Saturday at Royal Dornoch, full greens but forward tees.
Played SH*TE, don't think i even made double figures in stableford points. :D

Drove and putted ok Irons awful.Thin or fat.

Played 1st proper round for almost 2 months today and shot 76 for 39 points. Range work has done the trick and even drove the 312yard 18th including a 285yard carry over the rough.

Newly refreshed set of MP32s got their 1st outing in anger and how nice it is being back on forged irons as opposed to cast trash!

Course was in very good nick with the exception of ice rink winter tee mats! The 20 minute wait on the 16th tee for the traffic jam to clear was seriously annoying though. Saying that we did have 3 4 balls directly ahead of our 2 ball and the 17th has 4 seperate water hazards all VERY much in play.

Roll on getting my autumn singles match played now the course is playable again!

Played yesterday at Edenbridge, really looking forward to it after my great round at Copthorne the week before.
Bloody hell. You'd have thought I'd never swung a club before.
After starting well with two straight pars, I thought "here we go again" but nothing could have been further from the truth. I was truly, truly awful. Murph was just as bad on the front nine, and I somehow found myself two up against him. Leftie was chugging along nicely and golf wise, was on a different planet.
Ended up losing to Murph 3&1, four blobs in the closing five holes didn't help.
11 points out, 10 in for a massive 21 point total.
Leftie had 37 points with a blob. Played superbly.
Chris played the closing 8 holes 2 over gross.
I came home, kicked the cat and fell asleep.
This bloody game is so difficult to understand sometimes.
:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Smiffy

Thats good shooting from Chris for the final back 8 at my track, some difficult holes there, especially the 17th. leftie's 37 points is also very good. Hope you liked the course, like many at the moment its a bit wet and the bunkers need sorting, but a new guy has taken over (within the last 10 months) and the old timers tell me he is doing well with the course, as we know it all takes time.
