Plastic covering around hosel on an iron

Hi guys

The black plastic piece on the hosel on one of my irons has broken off today (not sure how it happened). Am i right in saying this is just cosmetic covering up the joint between shaft and clubhead or is it more important than that? Is it easy to replace?

The head would need to come off to replace, but yea it is cosmetic, I suppose a little black tape or glue to broken one on might do?

thanks brendy, i assumed as much. Ill leave as it is and see if I notice it next round, if so I suppose it'll need doing asap, if i dont notice it can wait lol

You can also get snap on ferrules, so that you can replace without removing the head.

I had 2 replaced as them being missed bugged me at address. Club pro charged a fiver per club to pop the shaft, replace and re glue.
