Plane 2 (The real conundrum)

Irrespective of whatever "rules" an airline has, the idea of reclining your seat fully without checking if it's going to inconvenience the person behind you is the equivalent of refusing to let the following group through when you're holding them up on the golf course. Just plain selfish.

Modern society at the end of the day

Most these days don’t care about others as long as they get what they want

Absolutely. It's down to what type of person you are, selfish or considerate. I really dislike selfish, inconsiderate people but unfortunately they exist amongst us.

Nobody has the right to say they are "inconvenienced" by someone else reclining their seat (unless their meal is served).
You buy a seat, you may put it in whatever position you like when it's allowed, no other person has any right to interfere in that.
If anyone doesn't like that they get a bulkhead or exit seat, to say that people need "permission" off another passenger is just pure fiction and people who have convinced themselves of that are deluded.

I've done some long flights.
Denver twice, Dallas and San Francisco. Los Angles on the way to Sydney, and Bangkok on the way to Brisbane.
Loads of European flights.

I try to spend as much time as I can out of my seat. Exercising, standing and sitting on the floor with legs out straight and back vertical.
Eating, watching a film and sleeping is what those seats are for. Just like home. Reclining for sleeping only. If someone else's choice inconveniences me, I get up.
Sitting too much gives me aches.
