I had a free fitting recently for a set of Ping i15s which I loved.
However...
I could save over £200 by buying a set of mint condition i10s in exactly the same spec. as I was fitted for.

Obviously I'd want to have a hit with the i10s (luckily they're local to me) but the fitting stats should be good for both.

Shouldn't they?

Those in the know seem to prefer the i10 over the i15.
To me the i10 looks better.
Can't see the spec needing to be different...

Iain,
What handicap do you have?
Im currently using i10's.
I went from Cobra S2's to them and like you had contemplated the i15's too.
I was fitted for the i15's but when i ordered them they fell through(Shop fault).
Anyhoooo i picked up my i10's for a steal..200 euro
They came highly recommended by a few lads on here that have switched to the S56's and i15's.
My dad recently parted with his i15's for Callaway RazR's because he was struggling with the Pings but it was him and not the clubs..

To be honest i played a few rounds with his i15's before buying my i10's and the only real difference that i could see was that the long irons are a little more forgiving in the i15's in contrast to my i10's but i sorted that with an i15 hybrid.
You'll see alot of reviews about the 2 and the i10's really get a slating for being not forgiving but i think that its all crap.
After all they have a pretty decent cavity in the back!

If its the latest you want go for the i15's but for me the i10's got the nod because like you i was saving a packet of dough..
They will take a few rounds to get to know them but i find the distance control on them pretty good.

Also they have the old grooves...Aesthetically the 15's might have the edge but thats only in the bag.

Go for the i10's, I have them and when I went to have a fitting for the i15's the Ping fitter could not improve on the results he was getting with my own clubs. And the Sherlock Holmes in me has deduced that the i15's are an improvement, but not the great improvement that the magazines are saying they are.

Just think what you can do with the spare £200. New driver, wedges or hybrids.

if your thinking of i15, make sure and check out the offset on the 4 and 5 irons, never suited my eye at all, I believe the i10 have less offset, but would def look to get out and hit them first.

I really liked my 10's Iain. I15 get a great write up however be aware that there is a G20 model on the way which will mean that the I20 is also in the pipeline.

Therefore I15 should start to drop in price.
