Hi All,
Just wanted to let u all Know, Ive just committed to my 1st Purchase of 2012

My Mate, who has the Shop at my previous club, took Delivery of his 1st 'drop' of Ping i20 gear for the year......yesterday
I had to drop my wife off in town this morning, and on the way back home, go past my old club, so made a detour, for a coffee and bit banter.
Well..........The Rest..........U can probably Guess.......

Yep, Couldn't Resist
The Sleek, Sexy, Matt Black Finish of the Ping i20 Driver.........Resistance was Futile....
Picked it up, threw me a Headcover, and gave me a 'Ridiculous' Price -- Mates Rates -- that I just Couldn't NOT take a chance on it.
10.5 degrees, Stiff, Ping TFC 707D

Now I know, in this day of Custom Fit, everything, there is NO need to buy blind, but I pretty much know what works for me, and as Ive just said, at the 'Ridiculous' Price I paid, I will still get that back, should ( heaven forbid ) it Not work out.......!!

Tee off sunday 930 ---- for its Debut in the Bag
( Although only 9 holes open today )......:(

YES, it is BLACK, white writing, silvery / grey side Trim
And it has a sock neck, unlike the G series covers that don't protect the shaft at all

I Don't understand why Ping have different style headcovers for the G and the i series

Pretty

I'm going to struggle to resist the i20 if it looks anything like the pics I've seen! Looks absolutely gorgeous to me. Please feel free to tell me it's rubbish moogie! :D

Im very much hoping I WONT be telling u that.............!!! lol
The fairway woods look nice, but are very shallow, and the hybrids are nice looking too, a much different look to the i15 hybrid, which would look very chunky sat next to the i20 hybrid
A very nice looking whole range really..........

Which club were you a member at, moogie?

theres an open day for ping at our range next week or the week after. im going to have a run up and have a go with this new ping driver. it does look the business. lets see how it preforms. i might pick it up in the next few years. lol

Hope it goes well for you. Personally I'd never buy a club without hitting it first but if it works for you then fair play

Homer -- To be Honest, I normally wouldn't Either, woods or irons
But as I said, at the Price I paid........Couldn't not take a chance, I guarantee, even if I give it a go, and not happy, I will get my money back
Im hoping I can do Justice to its great looks though
Otherwise it will be an R11s fitting.......

Ive a friend from work has a 'Mint' G15 4 wood, he no longer wants.....and Im going to give that a whirl sunday too

1st outing today
18 holes on a soggy wet course
Hit the New Driver 8 times in total, due to some forward tees, and some tee shots at our course being tight and better with fairway or rescue
Anyway........
Except for the 1st hit of the day, 6th hole, where I went for my normal high draw, and 'double crossed' for a slight fade, and my tee shot on 11th where I slipped.....ha, the other 6 drives were very very good, 2nd hit of day at the 7th was Mint, right 'out the screws'
Me & my 2 playing partners all kinda agreed the Driver feels a bit light, the other 2 play i15 and 909 Titleist
But Both agreed it is a Very good looking Driver head
It does also fly quite Low, but not Too low
But when hit Properly it does feel very nice
With very little run in the fairways ( puddles - splash - hazzards ) I cant really tell u much on distance front, except to gauge off my regular Playing Partners drives, which meant mine were very much up with my 'norm' except for the 'Drive of The Day' ( mine ) on the 7th.
But not Bad at all for 1st outing

Went to AG in Slough today to check out the I20

Took my G20 along for a direct comparrison

Both 10.5 degrees, regular shaft

Hit a few with the G20 to warm up,then cleared the screen and hit some proper ones with the G20, not too bad for distance, but a bit all over the place as regards dispersal, the guy said I had quite a high ball flight which would lead to less roll .

Then took the I20 , we changed the colour of the flight and started hitting, and immediately felt the shaft was nicer. Distance wise the I20 was a tad longer than my best G20 shot, but there were more of them at that range and for me quite a tight dispersal.

Looking at the ball flight, it was lower than the G20, but not too low, leading to increased run when conditions allow

Hit about 30 shots with it and about 25 were within 10 yards of the centre line, for me that is very good.

My best shots werent really any better than the G20, but my bad shots were much improved

I think that this is a club I might have to investigate further :-)
