Just come back from hitting both irons and i'm in a bit of a quandary.
Whilst the G15 felt wonderful to hit the Burner 09 went further and was far more forgiving but felt 'sharp'.
So what's your opinion on both clubs and which would you pick, feel or distance?

It depends how much "further" they went I guess.
Lots further then I would go for distance, just a yard or two feel would win it for me.
As for what others think of the clubs?
You will be lucky to find anybody else that has hit G15's to any great extent...they have only just been launched.

The other thing to consider was how closely grouped each club was.
I would rather hit a 7 iron 150yds +/- 5yds than 160 +/- 10.

I think distance with irons is overrated anyway, unless you hit like Tiger and can take a 7 iron from 190. Would you expect to get much closer with an 8 from 150 than with a 7 iron?

Also, the longer you hit your irons, the further away from the green you have to start messing about with 3/4 swings or similar.

Just my opinion though. :)

I'm with Region3 on this. If you are hitting the burner longer but spraying them more then I'd forgive a little length in return for better accuracy. If they were much of a muchness dispersion wise I guess the burner may be the way forward but longer isn't always best. Plenty of long hitters in the woods.

I like the burner personally and seem to be part of a minority that hasn't hit the G15 yet so can't compare the two. I'm not sure what you meant by "sharp" as I found it came off the club pretty normally

Actually the dispersion of the clubs was a little tighter with the burner than with the ping.
By sharper, I meant that the feedback of a sweet spot strike on the burner was instantaneous and it's sound almost 'ting'ed' whilst the ping had thicker feel and seemed to linger momentarily after the strike, which felt kinda satisfying to me.
Anyway, I think i've bitten the bullet and decided on the burners.
My only question now is whether to get AG(Trafford centre) to do the custom fit, or wait a week and get a fit when the 'Tour experience' arrives.
Has anyone had a fitting at these TM Tour experience days? Would you recommend it over the AG fitting?
And finally do you know if they offer discounts on the Tour fitting?

The thing witht he TM experience day is that you'll get a session on the monitor (trackman when I went) which will give you all the data they need to make a decision on what set up you need. They'll also likely to have more shaft options than AG

in my opinion i would have tm do it rather than ag as who has more experience 1 that does it 7 days a week or one that maybe does 1 set of tm a week if that

Tm over AG anytime.

I'll be honest and say I'd never venture to AG for custom fitting.
