Ping G10 Irons

Just bought some g10 irons and after using have lost a lot of distance off my shots from my previous clubs which were titleist dci 762s!

Anyone else had this problem or can sugest anything!!??

Were they off the shelf Mazza?

Sounds like you have got regular shafts in them when it should be a stiff shaft. My reasons for this reply is that I had R400 shafts in a set of Cobra and they were 30 yards shorter than my new irons which have S300.

I changed a few years ago to Pings s59's wonderfull club, I found I lost a bit of distance but I soon got used to it and just hit an extra club. Now I dont notice the difference. Ping irons are hard to beat.

I bought some standard G10 irons and I then had a lesson with a local golf pro. Basically the irons where a lot short than my previous Taylor Made RAC OS irons and I traded them in for a new set of Ping S58 which seem to have bit more distance in them and I had to change the flex to stiff due to the speed of my swing.

The G10's have a reputation for a high ball flight so it might be the ball is ballooning too high. OK in the still summer air but a hint of wind will cause the distance to be affected
