Do you think there would be much difference in the club pro fitting me,or going to Gainsborough for a fitting ?

Where possible go to Gainsborough, they do it all day long and seldom get it wrong. A few of our lads have been back to Ping for adjustments and their clubs have been out by a fair bit. You cannot beat the experience of going to Gainsborough IMO.

Ok ta, just the distance put me off a bit, but i'll give it some serious thought,
Gainsborough every time. Much wider range of shafts available and I think you'll have a great time. If you can (and budget permits) why not travel up, stay over and try and get a game somewhere like Woodhull Spa or see if Ping will arange a game at Karsten Lakes

Having experienced the knowledge of the Ping guys first hand, I would definitely make the trip.
There was nothing they didn't know, and nothing they didn't have. The array of gear and equipment was mind boggling and would definitely be worth the effort. I am all for supporting your local pro where possible but for something like this you want as much choice as possible.
Fill up the tank and hit the road.

When I eventually get some cash saved up in off to Gainsborough, luckily it's about an hours drive for me. My pro is also a ping retailer and fitter but just doesn't have the facilities choice.
