He's small fry at $40 million over 4 years.
Kerry Packer lost £11 million in one day in a London casino. That was in the 1990s as I recall. So more like US$20 million circa 2010/2014.

Gambling and a strong Christian faith (as Mickelson self-proclaims himself to have) are not exactly natural bedfellows...but hey - there is much about the ways of many American (US) Evangelical Christians that I don't get and have much difficulty with. And so I read about Mickelsons gambling and rather just shrug as being what appears to be fairly typical of such ways.
