Peter Whiteford DQ'd!

If thats the case then why bother having a rules official. Trial by TV everytime unless you are playing as an early starter in which case you'll never get found out as it won't be on film. Makes it an unfair playing field if the top players can get a retrospective penalty just because it was caught on camera and a guy going out first and making the same error will get away with it. Surely if a player asks for a ruling and the ref gives it, right or wrong then the player and the tour have to stick by it. The player isn't seeking to gain an advantage or cheat

could you advise the incident event/player? this seems somewhat strange and whilst I remember well a couple of incidents at the same event last year, they don't fit this profile.

I wish I could remember which comp its was, its driving me nuts, but I watch every bit of golf on TV so remembering which one....

They should just ban observations phoned in by viewers. I thought that is why they have on course rules officials and other players watching each other.

I think it is a joke to allow people to phone in, imagine how many calls would be made if football or rugby allowed a ruling like this everytime there was a possible goal or try. Or a foul.

R&A and PGA need to get a grip and stop this nonsense and let the game stay on the course.

Why can't there be some form of petition to get it banned once and for all, I'm sure many would go for banning coach refs.
