Apparently he commissioned around a dozen 'breakfast' and 'drive time' shows so he could get authentic sounding shows for the background (heard it on Radio Scotland on way home from work).

i am assuming that was a recording rather than live radio.

Yeah, but he commissioned it with the folk that made it thinking it could actually be a bona fide radio show. It wasn't done with the knowledge it was for a comedy show.

Kay's attention to detail is legendary and it's one of the better sitcoms around. Easy viewing and well written. So much detail (that poster is typical) that you could watch each episode several times and spot something different

Just watched the second one tonight and I found the True Colours musical interlude strangely moving. But then again for some reason I love that song.

not words I expect to see in the same sentence:cheers:

watched an episode, the dogging story line was quite funny but i wont be making a point of watching it again

One of life's great observational comedians. There is lots going on just under the surface. Some that only us Northern folk would get. Not his funniest work by a long way, but still brilliant.

Love this and really well done observational stuff with Kayleigh nose being put out of joint with Jonathan having a 'date' and being a bit too friendly other work colleague - just her little sideways glances and pursed lips :)

Happended upon it for the first time last night, thought it was excellent, shall be catching up with missed episodes over the weekend. Right up there with the Detectorists and The Mimic as recent quality comedy imo.
