How easy is it to buy and set up a set of plates ?
HId wants to get me some but no idea what to do ?
can you bu y plates on line once you've sorted the new reg ?

Ta.

They even have a "cherished numbers" section on EBay.
The only time I have had one I bought it through the DVLA.
Once you have the log book there are plenty of places who will physically make your plates and fix them on your car. Your car dealer will definitely do it.
If you want to change the letter/number spacing on the plate (which isn't technically legal) then you can ask them to make it as a Show Plate.

Cheap enough from DVLA, I wouldn't go near after-market sellers.
Seems a bit of a faff when changing cars - that's what puts me off.

Naw I'm just a wee bit more realistic than some. Or tight - take your pick.

The latter but I am the same. Never been vain enough to see the point and plenty of other items to spend the money on.

I do suppose at my age though it would make it easier for me to remember my registration number rather than having to walk back to the car to get it.

They mean something to the person who knows what they mean, to the rest of us they mean nothing.

Neve buy one expecting it to mean something to other road users, we just don’t get it.
