I personally have separate independent golf insurance. Most home insurance will cover your equipment whilst taking them from home to course and most clubs will have third party cover if you cause damage/injury to third persons or property. My insurance however also covers my clubs in the car at all times as long as they are out of sight. I am also covered for new for old if my clubs are stolen, international travel if abroad and hire clubs if delayed.

This.
Have a policy with Carrick Neil, it's about 50 notes a year, can't say how it is as I've never had a claim.

From the England Golf website:

As a member of an England Golf affiliated golf club, you are provided with personal liability insurance.
Since 1 July 2019, every member has been provided with £10m personal liability insurance as part of their affiliation to England Golf.
Working alongside specialist insurance broker Bluefin Sport, England Golf have ensured peace of mind for members of affiliated golf clubs when playing your rounds.
As an individual member you are covered for personal liability in the event that you are found to be negligent for causing injury to another person or damage to third party property whilst playing or practising golf at any golf club or recognised practice facility in the UK, Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.
There is no excess in respect of personal injury claims, and just a £500 excess in respect of damage to third party property.
To find out more or to report an incident head to the dedicated Bluefin Sport website below:

My Golf Insurance offers additional personal liability cover as well as insuring against other exposures, including financial protection for golf equipment and personal accidents.
The product is administered directly by Chubb European Group SE, and premiums range from £19.04 to £33.60 a year, dependent upon the level of cover you choose.

I do not

As per woofers I am in England and am covered for personal liability, not sure if we still have it but the club used to do the same for all members.

My house insurance covers my equipment.

The club pays for a 'hole in one' in a comp and if not a comp it's have a bottle or two put on the bar and just replace them. Luckily my two 'hole in one' have been in comps.

I've never bought golf insurance. I don't tend to hit it that wayward, and paying out for the unlikely event I ever get a hole-in-one seems laughable as well. I think I pay out enough money on golf as it is.

Also bear in mind that unless you get top, top cover your clubs are not covered unless they are less than 2-3 years old and you have all receipts. As someone who has a bag full of second hand clubs it makes that aspect useless. Other cover is provided by England Golf so I don't bother.

If it suits you then go for it, personal choice.

Not true. I have middle of the range cover and my irons are 12 years old, but still covered under a new for old policy.

How many people have had to make a claim here?
My equipment is covered by household.
Can't say I've had a hole in one.

As most potential issues are covered by Sub/Green fee or household insudance, I haven't found the need - though that wasn't the case many years ago.
My first HiO cost me 1 beer - to my opponent - even though the entire committee was present, but having a meeting.

Fair play. Most of the obvious ones, Golf Care is one that immediately springs to mind, I have seen have that restriction.

Who is your policy with? It would be good for others to know.

The only thing I have claimed for that is golf related is that I lost the rear cover of my Sky Caddie GPS and the house contents insurance company for a new GPS unit.

Golf Care seem to sell policies on the basis that you get a free poker chip ball marker (with a massive Golf Care advert on it) and a 2for1 voucher at some average resort courses. Maybe some free golf balls too. Not sure the actual level of insurance cover is any good.

I don't have specialist golf insurance any more as England golf / household policy provides adequate cover.

No, don't have it. The club has some insurance for members, but to be honest, I have no idea what it covers. My clubs are covered under house insurance, and I try not to hit other people with balls or clubs.

There’s the ‘get out’ for the insurance company and one for everyone to be aware of. Many cars now have too little boot space for trollies and clubs, and a lot of SUV types have the rear seats folded down to accommodate golf gear.
I believe a few months ago some undesirables drove into Worthing GC and smashed the rear windows of a number of vehicles and stole the owners equipment on display.

My home insurance also covers my clubs when travelling to and from the golf club, but only then. Every car I've owned in the past twenty years has been capable of holding all my clubs, electric trolley etc in the boot out of sight. My primary reason for seperate insurance is because I play abroad several times a year and also many overnight trips in the UK.
