Golf Care seem to sell policies on the basis that you get a free poker chip ball marker (with a massive Golf Care advert on it) and a 2for1 voucher at some average resort courses. Maybe some free golf balls too. Not sure the actual level of insurance cover is any good.

I have golfcare cover and claimed on it for a damaged club and found the process remarkably easy. No proof of purchase required, just photos of the club and a note from my club pro saying it was irreparable and a quote for a new like for like club. I only had the base cover which meant I could only claim for up to £200 on any single item but the money was in my bank within a week.

That is not enough to prevent you from being sued unfortunately.
Several years ago a guy near Edinburgh lost an eye and was awarded a hefty sum.
