Penalty area clarification

You hit your ball into a stream, marked red stakes. I understand the general options and also the option of going to the other side (equidistant) is no longer viable. On one particular hole (dog leg to the left and penalty are on the right side of fairway) using the option of back in line (as far as you want) from pin through where ball entered the penalty area would take you across the red penalty area to the other side .....is this allowed under the back in line option...even though you are crossing to the other side of the red staked penalty area and beyond.

Yes.

The only option that's been removed (without LR) is dropping within 2cl of the equidistant point on the opposite margin.

Dropping back on line is exactly that (well within 1cl of the line nowadays anyway!)
