PCC review

I can see GP scores in Club V1 as have admin access and last Tuesday there was a -1 PCC , 8 GP scores entered and 3 scores were better than CR by 4 shots and one by 3. Others score were 1 over and a NR
On Sat 35 in Pro shop individual and 8 beat CR and PCC was 0 . Clear as mud ?
So Day 1 50% beat 'expectation' (significantly?) and 'expected' score reduced. Day 2 25%-ish beat 'expectation' (no indication of by how much) and no reduction.
Seems reasonable to me - or have I missed something.

Just had another look , rather than relying on my memory ,dangerous at my age ? It was 10 out of 34 .
In my naievity I'd surmise you need half the field to better their expected differential ?

8 scores on day 1 seems a pretty small sample size.

I took that to mean in general rather than a specific case.
8 cards in, 2 decent scores and surely PCC will come down....

It depends on how your view of 'decent' matches the algorithm's formula for 'better than expected' and what the other 6 scores are. It uses the general standard of all scores against expectations for that field.

We had a medal at our place yesterday. I didn’t play but I have seen the results and not one person beat their handicap. A few did play to par. PCC stayed at zero. Around 50 players played.

Then virtually every players scored within their expected range.

Cough cough...

My friend is wondering what PCC is? What should I tell him?

Tell them that "At the end of each day, the playing conditions calculation takes place automatically to determine if scores made at the course were significantly higher or lower than the expected scores of the players who made them"

If every player had played one under SSS net what would the CSS have been?

For late comers the thread has gone and will continue as follows:

Folk seem to largely fall into three groups:

1) Most players - comment or laugh/cry about apparent lack of logic
2) Rules Boffins - defend PCC with a voracity usually reserved for one's own children. Although they don't actually understand it fully either!
3) Everyone else - couldn't give a monkeys!

Maybe folk should just type 1,2 or 3 and it'll save you some time! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
