Lovely day on the course today, warm sun with little wind and ended up shooting a PB 86 (net 66) and if only I could putt it would have been even better, missed 4 putts today from less than 2 feet

I got fitted last week for a new set of Ping G25 irons, black dot, 1/2 inch extra on steel shafts with yellow grips, due in this week, so when I turned up this morning our pro told me to take the demo set from the pro shop and play with them today, standard shafts with small grips, but thought why not.

Got to say they are so easy to hit and I got lovely flight as well, felt so soft off the club face (ball dx3) and control around the green was very nice as well.

Can't wait till Friday now, day booked off work and hope to repeat today's score.

One very happy Del ( now sitting in the sun with Cider in hand )

New clubs always have that "out of the box" magic round and then the fairy dust wears off and you need to work harder for the score. Enjoy the score today and hope you play well with the shinies on Friday

It took me 6 months to get happy with my latest set of irons and in that time I nearly went back to my old set. Glad I stuck with them as they have now been in my bag for 11 years.

Good for you Del! I was at Ping in Gainsborough on Friday. Should have my new i20 irons (+G25 woods and Gorge wedges!) by Friday this week. Haven't been this excited since Christmas 1983 waiting on an Atari games console......

Cider so your young?
Ping so your old?
I don't understand  ;)

Great shooting, enjoy the feeling!! Nothing like new shinys apart from personal bests!
