Parkland or links?

A legitimate shot or a bit of a cop out?

Just about to go on a mixed weekend(Links and Parkland).

Living in Heathland central as I do and playing a Parkland course I would still choose Links.

My game has moved on loads as a result of more exposure to Links over the last year, having to play all the different shots and use so much more imagination has made a big difference to me.

I still adore playing Worplesdon,Hindhead,Hankley Common etc but as a pure golf experience nothing matches Links.

I guess that most on here play Parkland courses, so maybe biased towards that.

I guess it's like asking if we prefer blondes or brunettes. I've never been out with a blonde, (not likely to as I don't think HID would approve!), but I doubt if hair colour has a lot to do with anything anyhow.

Mind you I'd like to try the other.

I mean the links courses (just in case the Mrs reads this at some point!) ;)

Buy H.i.D. a wig, best of both worlds then

Vig. I've now got a dead arm after suggesting it to the Mrs. Thanks!!

Thats not the point. The point is to find out which is prefered. It may be easier to play on a parkland course thus making it easier to enjoy.

I love links golf, its a true test of ability and its also a version of the game where you are rewarded for good course management. There is a few courses near me where to be honest I can just smash my driver as far as I can because off the fairway, on the next one or in the sand I've normally only got around a wedge to the greens. I love the thought process involved in links golf and if I wasn't playing for my courses union side I would consider joining Cleveland or Seaton Carew links near me.

Oh and in general I have found that the links courses I have played on have had the best greens.
