Pantomine Season

It's not a panto if the Krankies and/or Johnny Beattie aren't in it!

Well! I think Farage came off rather well and Brand sounded like a complete fool who answered every question by blaming the City, even on immigration

Now now, is that a completely unbiased opinion? :D

Can't say I watched it myself as I had other things to do. Would anyone else like to offer a review?

The bits I saw - missed the first part and other parts were too cringe-ingly bad to watch - that was almost right. I'd just reshape (straighten) the first letter of 'fool' though!

Not sure about Farage coming off 'rather well' though. He was at least consistent, but then so was Brand! Farage would be better stressing the effects of uncontrolled immigration in general (services, lack of ability to plan etc) rather than focusing on specific sets of immigrants imo.

Between them, they made the other members seem positively sensible! :mmm:

I will Danny.

Irrelevant as to whether you like or loathe him, Farage was cool as a cucumber and Farage (between the two) came out head and shoulders above him where intellect and structure were concerned.

It was clear from his 2nd sentence that Brand had an agenda for the evening, not anti-labour and not anti-conservative (Lib dems weren't even mentioned by anyone) but simply to attack Nigel Farage at the earliest convenience and this trend continued throughout the show.

I was delighted when Brand was brought to task by an audience member quite 'passionately', he was uncomfortable and I have to say, was delighted watching Brands face twitch and squirm as he was shown to be nothing but a talker of big words with no skills or substance to be able to ever back it up with.

At the same time, some crazy woman heckled Farage whenever possible, calling him racist etc. She too was put down, not by the panel, but by the audience.

I'd never vote UKIP (and more than likely none of em) and whilst I don't like agreeing with Brand on the one point in "give us something to vote for" I have to say that from the full panel only Farage and a journalist came out with any credit.

Watch it on iPlayer mate - a good watch. The Labour and Con representatives were useless!

I thought Brand and Farage both played to type. Brand attempted to string overly eloquent sentences together (punctuated with colloquialisms) which had little substance behind them. Farage spouted his usual diatribe with his usual smugness. Brand was shown to be intellectually lacking whilst worryingly Farage seemed to have a modicum of support. Thankfully this was only a minority.
For me Camilla Cavendish outshone both (and the other panelists) with reasoned arguments and sharp rebuttals.

Cheers mate. Not a fan of either to be honest. Brand is just a self publicist who attempts to appear intellectual by using numerous words he doesn't fully understand. I still remember him turning up to an "Anonymous" march with his mask posed jauntily on top of his head!!!

Brand showed just what he is - a complete idiot! He just wanted to put down Farage all the time no matter what the question was about. He is a rich boy criticising the bankers and politicians for being rich and whilst trying to sound like one of us

Farage, cool and calm answered all the points succinctly, to be fair he is a good orator no matter whether you agree with him or not and he got the better of Brand all ends up.

Camilla Cavendish spoke very well on the subject, knowledgeable and clear on her view, I just wish she was a politician but sadly, like the other two career politicians on the panel, she would have to distort the facts, trot out the party line and end up just waffling like they both did as either, they didn't know the answer or daren't say the truth.

The audience were quite boisterous and as Canterbury is only 14 miles away I wish I'd applied for tickets

Couldn't have said it better, exactly how I saw it too.

Spot on, like him or loathe him Farage is very cool under pressure and in the spotlight, Russell Brand showed himself in worst light than Joey Barton did when he was on
