Pancake Tuesday....

unfortunately Spanky Panky, No and not likely to today anyway.

I like mine just plain with lemon Juice and a sprinkle of sugar, But the wife likes the Italian way. Which is rolled with whipped cream inside soaked for 3 days in a load of Amaretto liqueur with the amaretti biscuits sprinkled on top then soaked with the liqueur again.

Three young kids in my house and we've had ours already today at breakfast!

Simple lemon and sugar for me, or Nutella.

The missus bought some normal ones in a packet but they can be saved for the weekend. I'm going to make American style ones tonight with probably berries, maple syrup and creme freche.

Think I'll dig out my mum's recipe for 'scotch' pancakes and give it a go today. My children loved them as much as I did. I haven't made them before as she was always around - now that she isn't it's up to me...:)

Orribile bloody things. Well the ones my wife makes are. Stodgy egg and flour and grease.

Scotch Pancake on the other hand from Aldi... lovely

After dinner tonight, drop of lemon and sprinkle of sugar for the main, although I might slip chocolate spread on one.

Last year, we tried the Morrisons ready mix - basically a plastic bottle, mostly empty with the mix in. Just add milk, put the lid back on and shake. Made really good pancakes, so using again this year.

Found my mum's recipe - different from those on-line or in the books, hmm...let's see how we go...

Though I am confident as my mum was the best baker in all of Glasgow - FACT - well maybe not quite a fact - but in my eyes certainly, and maybe also those of the tens of thousands of primary and secondary school children she fed as a School meals head cook and as a School Meals Area Organiser for Renfrewshire through the 70s, 80s and 90s :)

spam fritters and semolina pudding doesn't really count as cooking though, does it :p:D

...and they didn't count as school dinners for my mum. Her passion was to get kids from some of the poorest parts of Renfrewshire (e.g. Feegie Park) eating decent and healthy food as she knew that for many it was quite possibly the only meal of the day - and certainly the only chance of getting a healthy one.

Simliar to me 3 grandchild round lemon sugar Nutella and bananas, let the oldest one toss them, when my daughter was small I let her toss one and it fell on the floor “that’s ok mum can have that one “ she said. :)

I won't get a chance, get home from work and straight off down the pub to watch Spurs Juve.

Usually when I have them I just sprinkle a load of sugar in them and that's all. Or occasionally Nutella.

Just rusteled up some scotch ones

50g sugar
100 gram of flour
1 egg

Whisk till like sawdust. Then slowly add small splashes of milk.

In the pan. Little butter and honey ontop

Yes!! I like pancakes again

Divs
