first game for me this. It’s a betterball stableford?

Someone mentioned that it’s 6 holes of Texas scramble, 6 holes of betterball and 6 holes of greensomes?

I’m aware Texas scramble is you play the best shot out of the pair each time.

Not sure what betterball or greensomes is?

Please advise

Greensomes - Team of 2, both drive off, pick best ball and play alternate shots.
Betterball - whichever member of the team has the best score, that’s the one to count.

"Pinsplitter" is a new one on me, but:

• Betterball: both players play their own ball and the better score on each hole counts as the team score
• Greensome: both players play from the tee, after which the players choose which ball they will finish out the hole with, playing alternately, starting with whoever did not play that ball from the tee

A common variation that is similar to the format you describe is 6 holes betterball, 6 holes greensome, and 6 holes foursome (alternate shot). This known as "patsome".
