Is it just me, or are these sections named back to front?

Surely "Out of Bounds" being a golfing term implies you talk about golf there, whereas "The Lounge" has no immediate golfing connotation, and would therefore be where you'd expect to see non-golf talk?

I'd read it that the lounge is where you normally finish a round and discuss golf.

Out of bounds suggests off the course, and therefore off-golf banter.

Maybe the lounge could be renamed The 19th Hole?

"The Lounge" has never really made sense for me, but "Out of Bounds" means non-Golf-related topics as far as I'm concerned.

Perhaps "The Lounge" should be renamed "In Play".

I also find it strange that it still says "new forums" for ask experts, post a review, and arrange a game as these have been on the forum for over a year now I would reckon.

We could have a vote to rename the rooms!!!!

Change Out of Bounds to "Ahhh Shite" Thats what I normally say when I go there.

I think it makes sense to most people who were around when they were named as it was explained the same as Bratty has.

Not sure if i'm imagining it but i think the names were decided by a poll. Could be wrong. been a while.

But that doesn't make sense. You don't go the "The Lounge" when you've finished playing golf, you go to the locker room or clubhouse. The lounge would be where you go to when you get home to watch telly or listen to the wife talk rubbish.

Not that it really matters, just saying that the forum names are illogical. The Lounge should be 'On the course' or 'The Clubhouse', then it suggests what it is.

I'm not sure about your clubhouse but mine (and most others I think) have 'A lounge' and a restraunt or snug room as seperate areas. The lounge is were most people end up sitting at the bar talking about all things golf.

Its not going to be the same for everyone, but it was just a general thing.

It probably helps that there is an explination under each forum name :D

It might be worth looking at a few name changes to freshen things up. As I recall, the ask the experts was going to be for a select panel of PGA pros to give expert advice on swing videos and kit. The only pro we have is Bob and so any other advice in their mine included is pretty subjective. Maybe Mike (if he's recovered from his birthday yet) and the guys can have a think

Maybe it's just you Hugh :)
It seems fine, but that's just me.
We could just name them 'golf here' and 'any ole guff here' but doesn't sound just the same.

I am under the impression that the forum is pretty much installed, configured and only touched when something is wrong (from a software point of view) it isn't tinkered with as much as some forums I frequent.

perhaps we could have a photo section :D for anyone who cant read.

iirc, the Ask the Experts section was not necessarily just for golf related questions. It could include any subject and the "experts" were the Forum menbers who, between them, hold a vast database of knowledge - hence questions on TV's, video cameras, cars, etc.

It doesn't really matter though, the answer to life the universe and everything = 42.

For the nerds amongst us .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42_%28number%29

I didn't realise until I read it that Douglas Adams had done his research :D :D
