Tour Rookie
So yesterday we had our Footjoy shoe fitting and what a great day it was well apart from the golf
We first met up with golf monthlys Paul and Richard and footjoys represensitive Russell and he gave us a quick induction about footjoys reasons getting into apparel after this we had to pick outfit from about 50-60 garments. I picked a white and blue t shirt, shower proof trousers and a blue through over top also two FJ belts and a glove.
We then had a tour of the factory and got to see all the new shineys being made but before I forget as you enter the reception of Footjoy/Titleist there was plenty of signed equipment from the tour pros AND a Titleist bag with at least 20 scotty Cameron's in there used from tour pros including one from tiger, must be worth a few quid
We then went off to the shoe fitting and we was only expecting to be able to pick one pair but we got given two pairs one M-project spikeless and one dry tour pros spiked. I'm actually a size 10 in any shoes but the first thing Russell said to was those Adidas 360s are way to big. After taking a few measurements I was actually 9.5 in the dryjoys and a 9 in the M-projects which was a surprise but the comfort of the shoes being correctly fitted was great. I must admit I googled the M projects before I went to the fitting and must say that my mind was already made up in that I didn't like them as they don't look like a golf shoe but once I had them on WOW WOW and WOW they feel like your walking around on air and just instantly make you feel relaxed they also help you get the weight from the rigth to your left this might sound silly but they actually do. The dry joys tours are also a awesome shoe but are more a stable traditional shoe.
Out the two the M-projects are just slightly my favourite.
We then on to play a round at st Ives golf club which seems to have a bit of potential but it was not in the best of conditions some of the greens were awful.its bit like an inland links course and the wind was unreal. Iv never played a course like this and really struggled with club selection as the wind was taking the ball away. I played the back 9 by myself and the greens were in a lot better condition and much greener with a little less wind so managed a little better.
I know iv missed loads of bits out but I will be here all night trying to wright it up
Thanks to everyone I met yesterday and I really enjoyed all your company.
Thanks GM and Footjoy
A few pics of my shoes sorry about the poor quality picks
