Footjoy Hydroknit Washing

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any of the Footjoy Hydroknit waterproof gear and has washed it at all? I’ve got a top and pants but never fully washed them (in a washing machine). I’m reluctant to do it as I don’t want to ruin the waterproofing.

And then you either iron the jacket with a towel inbetween or tumble dry to re activate the waterproofing

I've washed goretex jackets and other waterproof items, trousers, using basic liquid soap. Cheap and cheerful in supermarkets, Home Bargains and the like. Then tumble dry on a very gentle setting, low and slow.

Nikwax is quality but liquid soap will do the job as well.

The important thing, never washing powder, capsules etc . They will damage the waterproofing.

I use Nikwax Tech wash for my waterproofs. Run the machine on a couple of rinse cycles to clear any detergent caught lurking, can strip the waterproofing off your clothing in no time.
And never ever use conditioner.

Or...use Nikwax Tech wash and follow it up with the Nikwax wash in reproofer.

I wouldn't use something unless as I was sure of its reputation.

Nikwax is well know and has a good reputation.

Cheap "liquid soap" would not be going near my waterproofs.
Biological detergents will ruin them.

Yes it is.
Played in sideways wind and rain at Dunbar a couple of months ago and I was dry as a bone.
