Other than golf what's everyone missing most?

Really missing my morning coffee. Been getting it from the same outlet (currently closed) and the same lady for nearly 13 years. Miss having a good laugh and a natter first thing. Simple pleasure but sets me off to the unit with a smile

At least the coffee stall is open at the front of the hospital! I was like a kid in a sweet shop when I was there last week! The thought of someone making me a coffee blew my mind!

I am missing Swimming, I had been working my wotsits off improving for a half ironman which is now canceled, so much so I have been tempted to have a splash on one of my running routes, but have not yet...

I am missing some peace and quiet, wife is working from home, kids aged 10 and 13 are at home. After half past ten at night once everyone has gone to bed I am getting a couple of hours of just me farting, picking my nose and general slobbing it in private without getting, dad, dad, dad and so on.

1. Talking to my 95 yr old father every night
  • He's in hospital and its impossible to call (+ his hearing aids have stopped Working)

2. Walking my dogs every day - the two older ones especially loved walking down the hill to the cafe for their biscuit
  • Although I could walk them - we decided its easier not to - they have their garden

Otherwise very little - I really don't do much apart from earning bone money and occasional golf and golf watching

My son. Currently stranded in Antarctica. He is a diver and his contract has finished as winter is setting in. Unfortunately due to the lock down in S America there are no flights to the UK.

Just an update to say my son has managed to get home. Flight from Antarctica to Falklands then a 18 hour flight in an RAF tanker to Brize Norton, refuelling in Dakar, followed by a nine hour taxi ride to Oban. Glad to be home, but knackered!

Yes, he has been out since October and desperate to get back to see his kids. (Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that.)
