I've been offered the 1 Feb for my next knee operation, which is much sooner than I had anticipated.

Going for a full ACL reconstruction on my left knee. Looking forward to being able to play 18 holes without the aid of a buggy!

(In about 6-9months time of course :D )

Wish me luck!! x

Ouch. Not good timing with the season on the horizon but I'm guessing even getting out in August and September and being pain free is a huge plus and more than makes up for being out there. Don't rush back and if you have to write 2010 off the golfing calendar at least you can practice and come back all guns blazing in 2011

That and you can sit back and laugh as we all moan how badly we played.

Best of Luck with it Sneds,
I can relate a little to what you have ahead.I spent 14 weeks in a cast during last summer after snapping my Achilles playing football and like Homer has said your better off having it now as it gives you the summer to recover and come back strong in 2011.
Also you can still practice your putting if your put in a cast also..... I played a few rounds in mine but bare in mind my cast was from below the knee down and i was able to walk on it...... ;)

Good luck with this, and I hope it all turns out well. No point in rushing back, you have the rest of your life to play golf. It isn't like it is that important anyway.Am I kidding?

Get well soon.

Hope all goes well for you Sneds. As others have said, take your time coming back. Don't forget, you've always got us lot here to share your woes with, and the recovery and comeback.

Chillax,

golf isn't going anywhere

Nor am I for that matter, litterally ;)

Ha, no seriously thanks for the kind words. I'm really pumped about getting the operation so early and just wanna get it sorted and hopefully get back to playing sport worry free.

Viscount, it will provide an excellent opportunity to concentrate on my degree. If only I hadn't bought football manager 10 before christmas! Ha x

Well I'm in the hospital, they're keeping me overnight so I can see the physios in the morning. Fortunately I have my iPhone to keep
up with events on the forum and the rest of the Internet.

The only other guy in the ward is a lovely gentleman called Brian who is having a knee replacement after it transpired that his first replacement contained nickel, which he is allergic to!

Anyway thank you to the forum for preventing me of dying of boredom!!

Ps- I went range on Friday and I was genuinely hitting the balls better than I have in a long long time. Always the way!! x
