Opens 2017

It was my first look at either Saunton course in last year's Easter challenge so started on the east. Driver, 3 iron to a foot into the wind down the first and I was basically thinking about the winners speech!

Im definitely going east first again this year. It's almost a stroll in comparison in the afternoon then. 20th last year, better first round needed.
Theyve lenghtened the West quite a bit from what i saw. added over 50yds on some holes, and also put bunkers everywhere.

Always nice to start with a par mate:D

we always do the east in the morning as it's tougher. We discussed changing but think we'd be too knackered for the east in the afternoon.

the RND event is Saturday & Sunday but you can enter just one of them. Won't be playing that next year though as I have a fourball practice round booked on the east.

was going to message you about the Alverstone Trophy to see about 'getting involved' 

Sam,

is there a deal on the practise round at saunton or is it full green fee rate?

You get 36 holes of repeatingly being slapped in the face on every shot - God only knows why anyone wants to go for a practice kicking too!! 
Ha ha, it was only for a warm up beating :D

I shall go for Royal North Devon blind for 0.1 back then Saunton blind for 0.2 back. Easy isn't it this handicap building malarkey

RND is ok to play with little to no experience, its all very much what you see if what you get.

CSS is usually at least +3 anyway.

Those of us that are entering Saunton should try and enter in tee times close to each other, we can all say hi when we are letting each other play through :D

There was going to be 3 of us going from our club, but as the entry gets closer the enthusiasm seems to be drifting so I'll probably be going down on my own.

I'll be looking at 9ish on the East if possible.

The website normally has when online entry opens, but I can't see that at the moment?? Was it New Year's Day it opened last year?

No i think it was end of January, i'll probably play a bit earlier to be honest as we stay the night before means i can get home quicker! £30 for a travelodge the night before - steal!
