Open Gold medal,trying to locate

Wife,s Great Great Grandfather was Open Champion in 1888 Jack Burns,have never been able to locate his Gold Medal, which the winner always gets.He was Pro at Warwick GC at that time.Have tried Warwick GC and WArwick city museum to no avail Any ideas out there!!
