One Handed Putting. Go On Give It A Go

I'm willing to almost give anything a go to improve my putting.

However I think if someone at my course spotted me using the belly putter AND using it one handed I might get chucked out.

Luckily, there is an alternative.
And the spooky thing is the guy who invented it is from Dunfermline too.:)

It's a sign

So here's the thing. If it's great for 5-6 footers but not good for longer, would you really want to add in yet another variable (an additional swing/stroke action) to what's already a complex game?
I tried one-handed putting and it was terrible, not nearly enough control, the action may have been smoother but that's no good if there is no control.
My tuppence worth on putting is this; it's a process, and process is something I know. In any process the key to success is something called R&R. This stands for Repeatability and Reproducibility. For something to work with a minimal number of defects (or sigma) the action needs to have repeatability (can be done over and over) and can be reproduced (consistency).
That's putting for me. When you start introducing variability it is highly likely that the process will break down due to that variation.

The above is personal opinion based on 25 years of playing the game (ok so not professionally) coupled with my experience as a process improvement professional. Other opinions are available.

Greig, its a lot smoother, i was putting from 6 yards out to 20 odd yards. And i didn't have any issues. Like i have said, i don't have the best putter posture in the world, so if i can do something that improves this, well i am up for it. Oh and its NOT a V-Easy sorry to say.

i use this in my putting practice as well as not looking at the ball.To practice my distances i line the putt up as normal BUT then look at the hole NOT the ball this gives me a better feel for the distance and how hard i strike the ball, works for me and has done for years

Well i played 9 holes tonight one handed, and it was ok. Not as good as the practise area, but i expected that. I think i will try another couple of rounds before i make my mind up.
