One Day World Record

does that make it right? you happy to see a sport utterly devalued? existing fans completely marginalised for a dumbed down version?

how would you feel if half the golf tournies on tv were played on short courses with 6 inch bucket holes? how much live golf would you watch and be interested in then?

probably about as much as cricket fans are watching this farce

Its happening in many sports (rugby 7's, golf 6's etc) and to be honest is there really the demand for "proper" cricket. Look at the lack of crowds for championship games, at most overseas test venue. Clubs and the governing bodies have to make money and like it or not T20 is a way of getting bums on seats. Most fans only have time to watch a one day game or a T20. Do I think it's dumbing down cricket. Not at all. It's just giving fans a different version of the game to enjoy.

Rugby 7's has been going since 1883 and I hated it with a passion at school as we played it in the Spring term, much preferred the 15 game .
