Ok so after finding out winter greens were on yesterday I dustd off some old clubs I have, a 2 iron, 5, 8 and a niblick plus a putter are the only ones of almost two sets that have decent looking grips.

These bladed clubs have weird dark shafts that look more plastic than hickory but hey I thought lets give them a go.

(btw I know they are only worth about £20 at the most each according to what I was told and I did not break any!)

Boy could I nail that two iron! I did not hit a bad shot with them until the last hole of my 9! I even had three or four birdie putts (or chips from 8 feet on winters) which I missed.

So tell me guys, what is the oldest club you have? I am going to check the dates on these guys again after my match this morning.

(For those who thought this was about clubs not clubs... what is the oldest club in the uk?)

Seems to be a rivalry as to whom is actually England's oldest golf club!

Your club comes from a fairly strong golfing bloodline. The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers (that's Muirfield), Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society and the Royal Musselburgh Golf Club all came out of the Old Links at Musselburgh.

:D

I know my club Royal Musselburgh goes back to 1774, we also play for the Old Club Cup, the oldest trophy played for in the world.

Wow!

Stand by to add another exclamation mark to your 'wow', accoring to their website, the course at Musselbrough is actually a century older than that!
